Grit Blasting
Services
The longevity of your hull can be achieved through grit blasting and 2 pack epoxy solutions which protects the steelwork of a boat.
This proven process has a significantly longer life expectancy and is more durable than traditional coatings. At Swanley Bridge Marina, we have a dedicated grit blasting shed which can be booked via the office.
The grit blasting process is carried out by D&J Engineering. The marina is responsible for the grit blast shed hire and all boat movements associated with it. The full process is summarised below:
- Trailer the boat out of the Marina and into dedicated grit blasting shed.
- Polythene cabin to protect paintwork from dust and grit from the blasting process.
- Grit blast hull to a SA 2.5 finish.
- Assessment of hull following grit blast process which can reveal pits and other damage to hull. Plug welding maybe required and this will be discussed with the customer.
- Application of three coats of 2 pack epoxy.
- Re-launch boat into the marina.
Please enquire within the office for availability and pricing.

All of these services are carried out by independent trades that operate out of our Marina.
Swanley Bridge Marina is not responsible for any work completed within our on-site DIY sheds.
All work is carried out by external companies or individuals that do not portray the actions or thoughts of Swanley Bridge Marina or Swanley Brokerage.
