DIY Workshop Facilities
Planning to carry out DIY work on your narrowboat? Swanley Bridge Marina offers excellent facilities to help you get the job done efficiently and comfortably.
The marina operates two high-quality, purpose-built DIY workshops, suitable for everything from minor repairs and routine blacking to larger, long-term projects. Each workshop can be booked on a weekly basis (Tuesday to Tuesday), giving you the time and flexibility needed to work at your own pace.
Both workshops provide full undercover accommodation for narrowboats, complete with good lighting and 16-amp power outlets. Boats are securely supported on blocks, allowing work to be carried out at a safe and convenient working height.
A key advantage of using a DIY workshop rather than a traditional dry dock is the controlled, low-moisture environment, which helps paint and coatings cure more quickly and evenly.
We have a purpose-built trailer designed to lift all narrowboats from the water via our slipway, and if your boat is arriving or departing by road, we can also lift it to and from your haulier’s HGV trailer using our hoist, Narrowboat Haulage.
Please note: Due to their popularity, we strongly recommend booking well in advance. For availability and further information, please contact the Swanley Bridge Marina office on 01270 524571.

All of these services are carried out by independent trades that operate out of our Marina.
Swanley Bridge Marina is not responsible for any work completed within our on-site DIY sheds.
All work is carried out by external companies or individuals that do not portray the actions or thoughts of Swanley Bridge Marina or Swanley Brokerage.
